The Eye of Horus (formerly known as the Eye of the Moon or the Eye of Ra), called Wedjat in ancient Egyptian, is an ancient Egyptian symbol and emblem with amuletic properties.

It was used for protection against envy, evil spirits, harmful animals, and illness, and was often crafted as a pendant worn as jewelry. The Eye symbolized royal power derived from the gods Horus or Ra, and was considered a solar emblem, representing order, discipline, and the ideal state.

This pendant was also placed on the chest of a pharaoh’s mummy to protect him in the afterlife.

Ancient Egyptian artists excelled in crafting it from gold, decorating it with images of Horus and Ra, as well as symbols of life (ankh), stability (djed), and protection (sa).

The Wedjat served as a symbol of cosmic and universal stability during the reign of the pharaohs.

The Ancient Egyptian Key of Life, also known as the Ankh (☥), is an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol shaped like a cross with an oval loop at the top.

It represents the word “life” and symbolizes eternal life and fertility.

The ancient Egyptians used it as a symbol of life, death, and resurrection, and the gods were often depicted handing it to the pharaohs to represent their divine power to give life and revive the dead.
